About Laura
Two of my lifelong passions are beautiful spaces and the great outdoors. Practicing interior design in the Elk Mountains of Colorado is a dream come true. I have been blessed with the opportunity to apply my talents in a variety of homes and businesses in the Gunnison Valley and back home in Kansas.
As a child, I enjoyed building elaborate forts with decorative accents in my playroom. My siblings and I sketched architectural drawings of a major remodel for our playhouse. Throughout middle and high school I practically lived with my pencil and paper in the art room. Being creative was a necessity in my life from the beginning. When choosing a career, there was no doubt it had to be something with an artistic element.
I concentrated on applying my interests at Fort Hays State University. Earning a BFA from the department of Art and Design allowed me to broaden my skills and practice working one on one with people through the profession. I had found my calling in Kansas, but needed to reside in my personal paradise.
My parents brought our family to Crested Butte, CO for the first time in 1989. Some of my favorite memories growing up took place in the Gunnison Valley. It was an easy decision to move here with my little dog Piper in September 2007. I continue to love a lifestyle of snow skiing, mountain biking and simply exploring our spectacular backyard.
Soon after moving, I fell in love with Josh Egedy, a teacher at the Community School in Crested Butte. We got married in the fall of 2013 and have happily settled into a simple life in a quaint little town.
Through the years I have enjoyed making wonderful connections with locals and professionals in the area. With hard work and the fantastic support of my loved ones and clients, I have been able to grow a successful freelance interior design business.
A special thanks to all who have been involved and I look forward to a bright future of beautiful design.
